First Aid at Work Training in Liverpool
The First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification is the most comprehensive workplace first aid course and the right choice for higher-risk environments. FTW Training delivers Qualsafe accredited First Aid at Work courses across Liverpool, Merseyside and the North West, equipping your nominated first aiders with the in-depth skills they need to keep your people safe.
With centres in Skelmersdale, Widnes and Birkenhead, and trainers who deliver on-site nationwide, we make it easy for Liverpool employers to get staff fully qualified — whether you run a warehouse near the docks, a manufacturing site, a construction firm or a busy city-centre workplace.
What Is the First Aid at Work Course?
This is the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF). It is a three-day course (a minimum of 18 contact hours) and is designed for individuals who are appointed as First Aiders in their workplace, or for anyone who wants an in-depth understanding of first aid. It helps employers meet their obligations under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, particularly in higher-hazard settings.
What the Course Covers
The three-day course covers everything in the Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus and much more, including:
- The roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Assessing and managing an incident scene
- CPR, use of an AED and managing an unresponsive casualty
- Choking, shock, wounds, bleeding and burns
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
- Head, chest, back and abdominal injuries
- Sudden illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, seizures and severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Eye injuries and the effects of heat and cold
Who Should Attend?
The FAW course is ideal for designated first aiders in higher-risk Liverpool workplaces — including factories, warehouses, logistics depots, construction sites and engineering firms — or for any organisation that wants the highest standard of first aid cover on site.
Certification and Requalification
Successful learners receive a Qualsafe accredited First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years. A two-day FAW Requalification course is available before the certificate expires, and annual refresher training is recommended to keep skills current.
