Work Training in Liverpool
Accidents and sudden illness can happen in any workplace, however safe it seems. Having a trained first aider on site means someone is ready to act in those first critical minutes before the emergency services arrive. FTW Training delivers Qualsafe accredited Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses to businesses and individuals across Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider North West.
Based in the North West with centres in Skelmersdale, Widnes and Birkenhead, we are ideally placed to serve employers throughout Liverpool — from city-centre offices and the Baltic Triangle to warehousing, logistics and manufacturing sites around the Port of Liverpool and beyond. Training can take place at our centres or at your own premises anywhere in the Liverpool area.
What Is the Emergency
First Aid at Work Course?
First Aid at Work Course?
This is the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), a nationally recognised qualification. It is a one-day course (a minimum of six contact hours) and is ideal for lower-risk workplaces, or for organisations that want a number of staff trained as emergency first aiders alongside their qualified First Aiders at Work.
The qualification is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 for appointed emergency first aid personnel.
What the Course Covers
Over the day, learners develop the confidence and practical skills to manage an emergency, including:• The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
- Assessing an incident safely
- Managing an unresponsive casualty (breathing and not breathing)
- Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an AED
- Helping a casualty who is choking
- Treating shock, wounds and bleeding
- Managing minor injuries including small cuts, grazes and minor burns
Who Should Attend?
The EFAW course suits anyone nominated to be an emergency first aider in a lower-hazard Liverpool workplace such as an office, shop, salon or small business. It is also a great introduction for individuals who simply want the skills and confidence to help in an emergency.
Certification
On successful completion, learners receive a Qualsafe accredited certificate that is valid for three years. We recommend annual refresher training to keep skills sharp, and requalification before the three-year expiry.
